Piedirosso is an obscure grape from Campania, the region in southern Italy that also gives us Aglianico. This is like Aglianico's sister: light to medium bodied, high acidity, low tannins. Cranberries maybe, but not much plum or cherry. Not a big red. More like Beaujolais. We had it with pumpkin ravioli.
Good, would be even better if it was a few dollars cheaper. From Grotta del Sole.
