When we saw this positive review (and modest price) of Tokaji Dry Furmint by Inquirer food writer Craig Laban we jumped on it, since we are familiar with the legendary dessert wine from Hungary made from the furmint grape called Tokaji Aszu.
This wine has a beautiful golden color, hints of lemon and apple, and a nectar-like body that held up well to the grilled vegetables, halloumi cheese, and couscous. The wine evolves in the glass and certainly grew on us.
The wine map shows wide availability around Philadelphia. Definitely worth it if only to try something different.
