Anti-PLCB crusader Keith Wallace didn't let his hatred of the PLCB get in the way of calling this "a beautiful wine, and one of the most undervalued wines I have ever seen in PA."
Robert Parker said it was one of "Italy's Finest Wine Values" 89 Points "A wilder, more gamey set of aromas and flavors that dominate the sweetred fruit. A weightless, silky-textured red, it should drink beautifully over the next seven to eight years."
Not sure why you are still reading instead of getting down to the store to buy some of this, but if it makes any difference we enjoyed this wine as well. To us the main characteristic was its softness without being flabby. The grape variety is Carignano, which supposedly is one of the most widely grown grapes in France used mostly for blending and table wine. But this is clearly a cut above and still at a modest price.
Sella and Mosca has also produced a Vermentino that we have enjoyed.
