I have been drinking this exact wine since the 60 s when I first had it in an Italian Restaurant in DC cellad AV Ristaurante on New York Ave. in a seedy part of town. My friends and I were regulars there as it was a nice rest. and had a huge following. I used to be lucky enough for the owner to sell me cases out the back door back then for $36. It is still one of my fav. wines. They served a terrific thin crust pizza, a white pizza and of course all those wonderful tomato sauced Italian dishes and this was the perfect accompaniment. I do breathe it at least an hour or decante it because it mellows out a lot and is nicely complex, smooth and with a slight effervence. Most people who I serve some to that haven't had it before want to know about it and where to get it. Price is very important in the enjoyment of wine and this one fits well into the budget.
